What: Both Textoriser and Poetry Picture offer an easy introduction to visualising thematic ideas using text. Like Wordle, these applications allow you to experiment with flexible narratives and how writing can be influenced by images, layout etc. A wonderful first step in building Digital Narratives.
Ease of use: Simple, you'll be up and running in no time!
Writing application: These applications are a great way to quickly warm up students to the idea of creating a flexible narrative. My strong suggestion is that you allow some 'free play' time with these applications first. Let the students experiment a little, then introduce a creative theme for them to build on.
You might wish to supplement your lesson with the discussion section of 'A classroom approach to DN' [.doc].
